Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully before using oneTap. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and oneTap ("oneTap," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the oneTap mobile application and website at theonetap.app (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading the app, creating an account, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction);
  • You have read and understood these Terms and our Privacy Policy;
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

oneTap is a morning briefing application that aggregates information from third-party services — including email, calendar, weather, health, and financial data — into a single personalized morning brief. The Service also includes an optional phone lock feature that restricts access to other applications until you have reviewed your brief.

The Service is available as a free trial (14 days, full access) and as a paid subscription with two tiers:

  • Free (post-trial): Up to 3 integrations from the free tier (Weather, Gmail, Google Calendar, Sleep via Apple Health, Tasks).
  • Pro: Unlimited integrations, including Pro-tier sources (Finances via Plaid, Investments, WHOOP recovery data, News Digest). Available for $5.99/month or $59.99/year.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You may only create one account per person. Accounts created by bots or automated methods are prohibited.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must:

  • Keep your password secure and not share it with anyone;
  • Notify us immediately at hello@theonetap.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account;
  • Ensure all information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.

3.3 Account Eligibility

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You must not use the Service on behalf of an organization without our express written consent.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Free Trial

New users receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all Service features. No payment method is required to begin the trial unless you choose to subscribe. At the end of the trial period, access to Pro features will be restricted unless you subscribe.

4.2 Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase. By subscribing, you authorize Apple to charge your Apple ID payment method on a recurring basis at the applicable subscription rate. Subscription fees are charged at the start of each billing period.

4.3 Pricing

  • Monthly: $5.99 USD per month
  • Annual: $59.99 USD per year (equivalent to approximately $5.00/month)

Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region due to local taxes or Apple's pricing tiers. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice.

4.4 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Renewal charges are made within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID → Subscriptions settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to Pro features until then. We do not offer partial refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.

4.6 Refunds

All refund requests for App Store purchases must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly for In-App Purchases.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, our servers, or any third-party system connected to the Service;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the app;
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service;
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls or security features;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service;
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or other malicious code;
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product without our express written consent;
  • Share, resell, or sublicense your account access to third parties.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination.

6. Third-Party Integrations

6.1 Your Authorization

When you connect a third-party integration, you authorize oneTap to access the specific data described in our Privacy Policy on your behalf. You represent that you have the right to grant this access and that doing so does not violate any third-party terms of service applicable to you.

6.2 Third-Party Terms

Your use of integrated services remains subject to the terms of those services. You are responsible for ensuring your use of integrations complies with Google's Terms of Service, Apple's HealthKit guidelines, WHOOP's terms, and Plaid's terms, as applicable.

6.3 Integration Availability

Third-party integrations depend on APIs and services outside our control. We cannot guarantee continuous availability of any integration. If a third party changes or discontinues their API, the affected integration may be modified or removed without notice. No refund is provided solely due to the unavailability of a specific integration.

6.4 Google API Services

oneTap's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the Service features you have explicitly enabled and for no other purpose.

6.5 Apple HealthKit

Data obtained from Apple HealthKit may not be used for advertising, sold to third parties, or used for any purpose other than providing health-related features of the Service as explicitly described in our Privacy Policy and in accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.

6.6 Plaid and Financial Data

By connecting financial accounts through Plaid, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. oneTap accesses financial data in read-only mode and cannot initiate transactions of any kind.

7. Health Data Disclaimer

Important: oneTap is not a medical device, medical service, or healthcare provider. The health and wellness information displayed in your brief (including sleep scores and recovery data) is for informational and motivational purposes only.

  • The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Do not rely on oneTap to make medical decisions or for emergency situations.
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making health-related decisions.
  • Recovery and sleep scores are derived from consumer-grade sensors and may not be accurate.
  • In an emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

8. Financial Data Disclaimer

Important: oneTap is not a financial advisor, broker, investment advisor, or financial institution. The financial information displayed in your brief is for informational purposes only.

  • Balance and spending information may be delayed or inaccurate due to bank processing times.
  • Do not rely on oneTap for real-time financial decisions or transactions.
  • Investment portfolio data is provided for reference only and does not constitute investment advice.
  • Always verify financial information directly with your financial institution before taking action.
  • oneTap is not responsible for any financial decisions made based on information displayed in the Service.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by oneTap and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission.

9.2 Your Content

oneTap does not claim ownership of data you provide or that is retrieved on your behalf from third-party integrations. Your email content, calendar events, and health data remain yours.

9.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions about the Service, you grant us a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use that feedback without obligation to you.

9.4 App Store

The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's App Store terms, Apple's terms take precedence for matters solely governed by Apple.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • Information retrieved from third-party integrations will be accurate, complete, or current;
  • Defects in the Service will be corrected;
  • The Service or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service integrated with oneTap.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ONETAP AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on or connected to the Service;
  • Any content obtained from the Service;
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your data;
  • Inaccuracy of data retrieved from third-party integrations.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $50 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless oneTap and its owners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

14. Termination

14.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription effective at the end of the current billing period and initiates deletion of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

14.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • You materially breach these Terms;
  • We are required to do so by law;
  • We reasonably believe your account is being used fraudulently or to harm others.

We may also terminate the Service entirely with 30 days' notice.

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 survive termination.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@theonetap.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve the issue within 30 days.

15.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), rather than in court. This means you waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

Exception: Either party may bring claims in small claims court if the claims qualify, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights.

15.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any arbitration or legal proceeding will be conducted on an individual basis only, not as a class, collective, or representative action.

15.4 Opt-Out

You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing hello@theonetap.app with "Arbitration Opt-Out" in the subject line.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. To the extent court proceedings are permitted under these Terms, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in California.

17. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by:

  • Sending an email to your registered address;
  • Displaying a prominent notice within the app;
  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with a change, you must stop using the Service and delete your account before the change takes effect.
